The Wheeler Lazy J Cattle Company is a small cow-calf operation located outside of Lovelady in East Texas. We started a commercial cow-calf operation about five years ago. We learned a lot as first-time ranchers and enjoyed most of our experiences.
In 2024, we decided to transform our commercial Brangus herd into a registered black Angus herd. We currently have 25 black Angus cows, 27 calves (and counting) and 1 black Angus bull.
Our ranch is a family operation where the herd receives onsite care and attention along with head rubs and neck scratches. Our goal is to raise healthy, gentle calves to sell to others as replacement heifers, breeding bulls, and show animals.
Family is important. This includes Charlie and Kim, our son Jason and his wife, Danielle, our two daughters, Melissa and Natalie and eight grandchildren. As a family, we have worked on The Lazy J, played on The Lazy J, cried on The Lazy J, and laughed on The Lazy J. We are continually blessed as we do this day after day.
